Climate activists target Mobil K'Rd

Supporters of the ClimAction coalition will be protesting outside Mobil K'Road (corner Karangahape Road and Ponsonby Road), from 3pm this Thursday, 26 October.

"Climate change is the big threat to people and plant, but Exxon-Mobil is trying pretend that it's not happening," says protest organiser David Colyer.

Thursday's protest comes ahead of a "Civil Disobedience Carnival Against Climate Change", planned for the middle of Queen Street at 1pm on Saturday 4 November.

ClimAction calls for free and frequent public transport, to cut CO2 emissions, and says that the Kyoto Protocol is not enough, advocating "system change" as the alternative to climate change.
