ERMA New Zealand Extends 1080 Submissions Deadline
ERMA New Zealand has extended the submission period for the reassessment of 1080 until 31 January 2007.
ERMA New Zealand Chief Executive, Rob Forlong, said the extension meant people would now have almost three months to lodge their submissions with ERMA.
The Department of Conservation and Animal Health Board application to reassess 1080 was received by ERMA New Zealand in October, and publicly notified for submissions on 2 November.
At the time submissions were advertised as closing six weeks later on 16 December 2006, in accordance with the required statutory timeframe.
"However, submitters have indicated they would like more time, especially as the submission period runs into the Christmas, New Year and holiday season," Mr Forlong said.
Copies of the application and submission forms can be downloaded from the ERMA New Zealand website www.ermanz.govt.nz
A CD, as well as printed copies of the application, are available by phoning 0800 376 234, writing to ERMA New Zealand, PO Box 131, Wellington, or emailing 1080[at]ermanz.govt.nz
