Concern Nats will ditch controls on doctors fees
NEWS RELEASE
Grey Power is concerned that an incoming National government will ditch the current controls on doctors' fees. National claim that competition and the market would ensure fees do not rise unacceptably, but is there competition in the market when it is impossible for many patients to change doctors?
Grey Power realize all doctors would not increase their fees unreasonably if the cap was lifted, but some have already been audited for overcharging while the cap is in place.
It should be remembered that assurances such as this did nothing to bring the price of electricity down, so why should we believe doctors' fees will not increase accordingly.
