Reverend Akuila Yabaki is Executive Director of the Citizens’ Constitutional Forum (CCF), which is an NGO that takes a leading part in trying to make Fiji a place where rule of law, constitutional democracy and human rights are respected, especially for those who are weak and vulnerable in society.  He has held various key positions in the Methodist Church in Fiji and abroad, including the United Kingdom and the wider Asia-Pacific region.

Rev Yabaki is also presenting a paper entitled “From Paramountcy to Equality: Constitutionalism, Dialogue and Ethno-political conflict in Fiji” at the PIPSA Conference being held on 4 & 5 December at the Fale Pasifika, University of Auckland.

The Coalition for Democracy in Fiji, a group made up of former Fiji residents, and concerned New Zealanders, has been active since 1987 in support of the fight for the rights of Fiji people and Fiji democracy.
