Strategic council alliance PR appalling timing

council alliance PR appalling timing
so-called strategic alliance being signed by upper North
Island councils today in Auckland is very poor timing,
unnecessary, and a costly PR exercise,” says Auckland
Councillor Cameron Brewer.
“We’ve already got very
strong relationships with each other. All these councils are
members of Local Government New Zealand, the Mayoral
Taskforce For Jobs, and are constantly meeting and working
with each other.
“Signing a piece of paper is just not
needed, and the timing of this PR fluff is just appalling.
“I would’ve thought these councils had more important
things to do when you consider we’re at the critical part
of the Rugby World Cup and the Bay of Plenty is facing an
unprecedented oil spill,” says Cameron

You know how it goes: Luxon doesn’t quite have the numbers, so his people start talking to the media to make him seem like the smart bet. Or even perhaps: Luxon hasn't got the numbers, and his people start talking to the media to talk up his support so that he gets a nicer consolation prize... More>>
