David Parker event - the future of work, Sun 2 Nov

How does New Zealand tackle the changing face and nature of employment?

Labour leadership candidate David Parker, an experienced lawyer and
businessman as well as a former senior government cabinet minister in the
Helen Clark Government, will join three prominent New Zealanders in a panel
discussion on Sunday to address this and other important employment issues.

David Parker will be joined on the panel by Rick Boven,a director of
Stakeholder Strategies Ltd and a former director of the New Zealand
Institute; Nigel Haworth, professor of human resource development at
Auckland University and a specialist in the international labour market;
and Selwyn Pellett, who has redefined the term 'serial entrepreneur' for
many New Zealanders, and who has an active portfolio of five companies he
has successfully founded.

The lively discussion will focus on the future of work. Including the
coming challenges posed by changing employment practices and the declining
demand for labour caused by the information technology and automation
revolution.
