Ambassador Sem Fabrizi's farewell trip to Wellington

EU Ambassador to Australia and New Zealand, H.E. Sem Fabrizi, visited Wellington for the last time in his capacity as the EU Ambassador to New Zealand. From September, the EU Delegation will be led by a resident Ambassador, Mr Bernard Savage.

While in Wellington, Ambassador Fabrizi had a number of high-level meetings, including with Foreign Minister Hon Murray McCully and Trade Minister Hon Todd McClay. He also met with the Ambassadors of Australia, China and the US, as well as with senior MFAT officials.

In his meeting with Trade Minister McClay, the discussions were focused on bilateral relations and trade, with both the Ambassador and the Minister confirming the robust state of the EU-NZ relations.

EU Ambassadors' luncheon with Foreign Minister Hon Murray McCully

The EU Delegation together with the resident EU Ambassadors hosted Foreign Minister McCully over a luncheon, on 9 August, in the presence of Ambassador Fabrizi.

The Minister and the Ambassadors held wide-ranging exchanges on bilateral relations and international affairs. Minister McCully was accompanied by the Head of the Foreign Ministry's Europe Division, Ms Paula Wilson.
