IMSB Website Account Suspended
IMSB Website Account Suspended
7 JANUARY
2017
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The
Auckland Ratepayers’ Alliance is asking why,
despite ratepayer funding of more than $3.4 million per
year, the Independent Māori Statutory Board appears not to
have enough money to keep its website
online.
Currently visitors to the IMSB website
at imsb.maori.nz are redirected to an
“under maintenance” page with a URL which indicates that
the IMSB’s CGI website account has been
suspended.
“What a welcome to 2017 and symbol of
Auckland Council’s incompetence,” says Ratepayers’
Alliance spokesperson Jo Holmes. “We would like to
contact the Maori Statutory Board to ask why their website
account has gone into suspension – but all their enquiries
information has now been taken offline.”
“With the
Council’s IT projects reportedly wasting more than a billion
dollars since the formation of the Super City, maybe we
should be thankful that at least one part of the Council
appears to be reluctant to spend our money on IT. We would
suggest however that paying to keep a website online is an
essential
cost.”
