Ombudsman releases four OIA practice reports
Chief Ombudsman, Peter Boshier, today released OIA compliance and practice reports on four government agencies (the Ministry for Culture and Heritage, the Ministry for the Environment, the Department of Conservation, and Land Information New Zealand).
Mr Boshier said the findings are useful for the public sector as a whole, and he encourages other agencies to read these reports and consider making proactive changes to their own processes and policies.
He noted that the investigations were an important way to ensure the public had trust and confidence in government agencies.
The reports were tabled in Parliament today.
