The chairperson of the Governance and Administration Committee is calling for submissions on the Regulatory Systems (Internal Affairs) Amendment Bill.
The overall policy objective of this omnibus bill is to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of regulatory systems overseen by the Department of Internal Affairs.
The Bill proposes amendments to legislation administered by the Department, as well as to legislation overseen by other agencies where the Department plays an operational role. It affects laws across several portfolios, including Internal Affairs, Health, Local Government, Transport, Justice, the Community and Voluntary Sector, and Land Information. Additionally, the Bill introduces consequential changes to related regulations and other Acts.
