UF opposes Foreshore and Seabed Bill
United Future will oppose the Member's Bill on the foreshore and seabed, sponsored by Maori Party co-leader, Tariana Turia, when it comes before Parliament next week
Party leader Peter Dunne said today the party understood the sentiment behind the Bill, but believes it is too much of a blunt instrument.
"We are happy to work with the Maori Party on seeking a resolution to these issues, but there can be no going back to the status quo before the Government passed the current Foreshore and Seabed Act."
