CHAIR REPORTS NO ‘NO’ BUT ALSO NO ‘YES’ FOR FARM TALKS PROPOSAL
Consultations on a proposal for managing quotas for lower-tariff imports have shown that agriculture negotiators consider an early deal in their subject to be crucial if similar efforts are to succeed in other areas, but some sensitivities remain, chairperson John Adank said on 16 November 2012.

WTO ADOPTS RULING ON ELECTRICAL STEEL
At a meeting on 16 November 2012, the Dispute Settlement Body adopted the Appellate Body Report and the Panel Report, as upheld by the Appellate Body Report, pertaining to the dispute over anti-dumping duties applied by China on grain oriented flat-rolled electric steel from the United States.

Lors de consultations tenues au sujet d’une proposition concernant l’administration des contingents à l’intérieur desquels les importations sont assujetties à des droits de douane moins élevés, il est apparu que les négociateurs sur l’agriculture considéraient que la conclusion rapide d’un accord dans leur domaine était cruciale pour l’aboutissement d’efforts similaires dans d’autres domaines, même si certains points restaient sensibles, a indiqué le Président John Adank le 16 novembre 2012.

L’OMC ADOPTE LA DÉCISION RENDUE SUR LES ACIERS MAGNÉTIQUES
À sa réunion du 16 novembre 2012, l’Organe de règlement des différends a adopté le rapport de l’Organe d’appel et le rapport du Groupe spécial, confirmé par le rapport de l’Organe d’appel, concernant le différend sur les droits antidumping appliqués par la Chine aux aciers dits magnétiques laminés, à grains orientés, en provenance des États-Unis.

EL PRESIDENTE INFORMA QUE NO HUBO UNA RESPUESTA NEGATIVA PERO TAMPOCO UNA POSITIVA A LA PROPUESTA RELATIVA A LAS NEGOCIACIONES SOBRE LA AGRICULTURA
El 16 de noviembre de 2012, el Presidente John Adank dijo que, en las consultas sobre una propuesta para la administración de los contingentes de importaciones con aranceles bajos, se ha puesto de manifiesto que los negociadores consideran que un pronto acuerdo en su esfera es fundamental para que puedan tener éxito los esfuerzos similares que se hacen en otros ámbitos, pero que aún persisten determinados puntos sensibles.

LA OMC ADOPTA LA RESOLUCIÓN SOBRE EL ACERO MAGNÉTICO
En una reunión celebrada el 16 de noviembre de 2012, el Órgano de Solución de Diferencias adoptó el informe del Órgano de Apelación y el informe del Grupo Especial, confirmado por el informe del Órgano de Apelación, sobre la diferencia relativa a los derechos antidumping aplicados por China al acero magnético laminado plano de grano orientado procedente de los Estados Unidos.
