Northland Solar Energy Conference

Saturday 7 September 2013, Kaiwaka, Northland

RESONZ Renewable Energy School of New Zealand and TRANSITION TOWN Kaiwaka are proud to announce the Northland Solar Energy Conference. This is the first initiative by RESONZ, a new educational centre that is situated in Kaiwaka and will inform New Zealand households, architects, builders and councillors about the latest on solar energy opportunities in New Zealand.

The Northland Solar Energy Conference will increase awareness and knowledge of energy efficiency measures and the smart use of solar energy in buildings. The conference is open to people with a strong interest in energy savings and offers a fantastic learning opportunity to discover the facts and figures about the solar potential of New Zealand. The focus of the conference will be on actions that can be implemented right now. Energy efficiency measures can reduce New Zealand’s electricity needs by up to 25-30 % and state-of-the-art solar technology can further create another 25-50 % savings on the electricity bill of buildings. The Solar Energy Conference wants to highlight the potential of solar energy as part of the total energy mix in New Zealand.

Three experts in the field of energy efficiency and solar energy will present compelling stories based on the NZ situation. The following themes will be covered:
