Dough HR
partners with professional services
Human resources
consultancy, Dough HR, is now successfully working with
professional services to help support their clients facing
employment issues and increasing workplace compliance.
“A lot of businesses are looking to their accountants for advice on employment matters and accountancy firms want to be able to offer wide-ranging business support and guidance if their clients need it. That’s where we can come in. We too want to help businesses thrive,” says Dough HR director Diana Barry
Dough HR’s establishment this year follows feedback from New Zealand businesses that they just want to get on with the job. Mrs Barry says Dough HR is determined to remove the stress and hassle often associated with the “people stuff”. Further, they pride themselves on their approachability and ‘hands on’ style - tailoring practical solutions to businesses’ specific needs, workplace culture and goals.
“Businesspeople often discuss any employment problems they may be having with their trusted accountant. We’re now forming relationships with different professional services, so they can confidently refer their clients to us knowing we’ll help sort out any ongoing issues, build better workplace relationships and practices, and ultimately help businesses grow.”
Mrs Barry says employers cite issues such as ongoing conflict, poor attendance, or excessive sick leave. Such problems are often related to employment contracts, policies, job descriptions, or induction processes falling short from the outset. She says Dough HR will not only help the employer address any specific problems, but will also build robust HR systems to ensure it does not happen again.
Dough HR is also working closely with businesses facing increasing compliance such as new health and safety legislation, and to make greater sense out of the 90-day trial period and now changing Easter trading laws by local councils.
“We are passionate about working in partnership with great people and helping them to build positive relationships with their employees. Now working alongside professional services to complement and round off the business services they offer to their clients is a win-win-win!”
Since launching Dough HR, directors
Diana Barry and Kate Brewer have had a great response. The
business partners have extensive experience having worked
with small businesses as well as some of New Zealand’s
biggest entities including Noel Leeming, Sovereign
Assurance, ASB, Inland Revenue, Placemakers, and Kirkcaldie
& Stains.
