Telcoinabox launches Australian and NZ centre

Telcoinabox launches Australian and New Zealand Operations Centre and invests $2 million in systems development to support expansion

Telecommunications wholesaler and franchisor, Telcoinabox has combined its New Zealand and Australian support operation in a new Australian and New Zealand Operations Centre (ANZOC), in Sydney.

The combined operations means the two countries are able to deliver higher level of services with greater scale and efficiencies for their franchise and wholesale service providers.

Telcoinabox is experiencing enormous demand from individuals and businesses to become a Telcoinabox service provider with three to five signed every month and the numbers are steadily rising.

“Our aim is to increase the number of service providers we support by 25 per cent with minimal increase in head-count,” says New Zealand Telcoinabox CEO, Shannon Fisher.

“To support this growth while achieving greater scale and cost efficiencies we are investing

$2 million in streamlining systems and processes over the next 2 years.”

Customer service, technical support, operations, billing, finance and training will be centralised in the one office for both Australian and New Zealand businesses.

Business development, product and account management functions will continue to be run from the respective country offices, Wellington and Sydney.

“Making it easy for our service providers to do business is our number one focus,” says New Zealand Telcoinabox CEO, Shannon Fisher.

“They are the core of our business, so it’s essential we ensure our infrastructure and business support systems evolve with them.

“Our business plan for the new financial year 2010/2011 is to build on our product innovation and stay focused on growth while fine tuning our systems and processes so they are watertight.

“It is this very structure that we will be duplicating in our overseas operations. We are currently in discussions with a number of potential master franchises in Europe and plan to establish a European Operations Centre which we will reveal later this year.

“The opening of the new global operation brings the company one step closer towards achieving our long term vision to enable more than 10,000 entrepreneurs to start up a telco.”

The business is currently hiring ten new staff, bringing the headcount in the new centre to 60.

This includes, technical business analysts, billing specialists, human interface designers, software developers, data-centric product managers, franchise channel managers and account managers.

New roles have also been created to manage human resources and in-house legal affairs.

As part of the path to growth resources are being allocated to developing a new generation of business grade products to launch to market over the next 18 months, one of which is a feature-rich hosted voice and data solution that will enable our service providers to offer their customers a replacement of traditional PABX systems with more flexibility and no capital investment required.

Workflow efficiencies and customer service will continue to be a key focus for the business.

Telcoinabox has over 150 service providers which are individually branded, owned and operated across Australia and New Zealand.
