Decline in Employee Engagement Continues…
A solution for improvement
For the first time in a decade, global research by HR consulting firm Hewitt Associates shows that the number of organisations with decreasing employee Engagement exceeds those with increasing Engagement.
Figures from Hewitt Associates over the last quarter suggest that the gap is continuing to widen further with immediate action needed by employers across New Zealand.

"Post the recession, employee Engagement has emerged
as a business critical issue for organisations globally and
it is particularly relevant in New Zealand" comments Tim
Powell, Managing Director of Hewitt Associates, ANZ. "With
the labour market starting to strengthen, it is crucial that
businesses focus on the Engagement of their employees to
ensure they retain their top talent and workforce
resources."
"The issue of employee Engagement cannot be ignored, regardless of organisation size. It directly impacts workforce productivity as well as workforce attraction and retention," continues Powell.
"Although we have seen Engagement widely embraced as a leading organisational metric by larger enterprises, there have been few Engagement products tailored to the budget and priorities of small and medium sized businesses."
To solve the escalating issue of employee Engagement, Hewitt Associates has developed an affordable solution designed specifically for use in SME businesses. The Rapid Engagement diagnostic not only allows organisations to measure and benchmark current Engagement both locally and globally, but also provides guidance on improving Engagement; which consequently increases the productivity, buy-in and commitment of employees, to the organisation, and motivation and morale. This is a first in the market, which is leveling the playing field and giving all businesses the chance to win the battle against increasing disengagement of employees.
