Town Planner and Resource Consent Solution Expert Hamish Firth to Guest Lecture at Auckland University

Auckland, NZ – Successful town planner and resource consent solution expert will guest lecture on the current issues in land ownership at Auckland University on July 18, 2012.

At Auckland University, in the WF Building, he’ll take the stage on July 18, 2012 at 2 p.m. His lecture, entitled the “Future Development of Auckland” will emphasize high rise and other options, discuss council’s blue print for the future, and provide a planner’s take on the subject matter. With Firth’s first-hand knowledge and experience, students will be able to establish an appreciation and level of legal expertise in dealing with issues concerning intensive living.

Firth is the principal of Mt Hobson Group — a consultancy that focuses on helping architects, builders, developers and home owners navigate the bureaucracy and simplify the planning process on building and renovation projects. Firth has a strong reputation as an expert in resource consent and building consent solutions.

“I am very excited about being able to present to students and to hopefully challenge their thinking and provide an opportunity for discussion. Once upon a time, long ago I was there and real life examples from practitioners always made the learning process so enjoyable”.

Hamish’s talk will also focus on the need to develop strong communication skills when dealing with both council and clients.
