Pacific Blue’s Happy Flying Hits the Streets

People are literally dancing in the streets following the launch of Pacific Blue’s ‘Happy Flying’ TV commercial last month.

To celebrate the new campaign, created by ad agency DraftFCB, flash mob dancers can be seen out and about shaking their hips and doing their groove thing for the unsuspecting public, in on-the-spot renditions of the Happy Flying dance.

The ‘Macca Men’ promotion channels the TV ad, which features cabin crew doing a unique rendition of the ridiculously catchy Macarena dance.

The dancers are hitting various locations all across Auckland this week, before moving on to put a smile on the faces of people in Christchurch and Wellington.

Marketing and Communications Manager for Pacific Blue, Phil Boeyen, says the dancers give people on the ground the chance to experience a little taste of Happy Flying for themselves.

“Happy Flying is all about the fun of flying and the Macca Men were hand-picked for their friendly and outgoing personalities. We’re taking those vibes to the streets in a fun-filled approach which we hope will bring a bit of Happy Flying to kiwis across the country.”

The Macca Men have so far visited Queen Street, The Strawberry Festival in Queen Elizabeth Square, Britomart, Auckland and AUT universities, Krd and Newmarket.

They will continue their moving and grooving around Auckland this Friday, Saturday and Sunday before heading to Christchurch, Thurs 12-Sat 14 Nov, and Wellington, Wed 18 – Sat 21 Nov.
