Want to be our partner?
Auckland City is looking for a
partner to help fund a $150,000 stadium.
The stadium is
hoped to become New Zealand’s premier indoor events centre
and will be located in the old railway yards near Auckland’s
central city.
The idea has been booted around since last
year when a collective of the region’s mayors approached the
Hillary Commission for ideas on how they could meet the need
for an indoor centre.
The Hillary Commission recommended
stadium which could pull in top international acts with
seating for around 12,000 people.
Impressed with the
grandeur, the region’s mayors have been eager to get plans
drafted and to find investors willing to back the
idea.

Despite Christopher Luxon’s assurances to the contrary, there is no such thing as “settled law” in New Zealand. Apart from the six provisions that are constitutionally entrenched, legislation can always be amended or overturned by a simple majority vote within our single chamber of Parliament.
