New property and membership salesman at Millbrook

New property and membership salesman at Millbrook

The new Property and Membership salesperson at Queenstown’s five-star Millbrook Resort has left a high-flying position within the district’s real estate industry to take up what he is calling his “dream job”.

Austin Bragg, a former president of the Wakatipu branch of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand and most recently director and Principal at Bayleys Queenstown, started his new role at the award-winning luxury resort last week (June 19).

He is working closely with the resort’s former property salesperson Simon Booker, who was recently diagnosed with motor neurone disease. “Simon’s input and assistance through this transition period is going to be of great importance to the members and for my own knowledge,” said Mr Bragg.

“He has done an exceptional job during his time here and has gained the trust and respect of all the members and owners so I’m really looking forward to being able to use him as a sounding board.”

Simon Booker spent four years in the role at Millbrook, marketing re-sales through licensing company Livingstone Realty Ltd. During that time Millbrook has experienced phenomenal growth in property sales and Mr Bragg is looking forward to future developments and his own challenges.

“The recent sales of six Streamside properties from $3.2million each, within a three month period, is continuing testament to the perceived investment value and growth of Millbrook,” he said.

“I’ve been in real estate for almost 20 years and if I had to write a dream job description it would mirror this. I’m a keen golfer who has spent a lot of time at Millbrook with friends and family who own property here.

“The resort is a wonderful asset for the district and it’s a real privilege to be part of it. This takes me back to what I really love, selling and marketing real estate in an outstanding environment.”

Despite talk of a downturn in the property market, Millbrook continues to buck national trends.

“Over the past few years, Millbrook resort has averaged $16 million a year in resales,” said Mr Bragg. “Work is well underway on the Streamside homes and through Simon I’m looking forward to getting to know Millbrook’s 300-plus members.”
