Waitakere CIB are asking for
further assistance from the public to help solve the fatal
shooting of a 29 year old in Ranui on the 18th of December
2012.
20 Staff from across the District are now working
on the investigation which was launched after Police were
called to Afton Place, Ranui after reports of shots being
fired from an address.
The victim died as a result of a
single gun shot wound to the chest, whilst a further male
required medical treatment for a gun shot wound to his leg.
"Police are investigating links between the shooting and
local members of the King Cobra gang" Detective Inspector
Scott said.
Investigators are keen to hear from anyone
that may have seen a male running from Afton Place Ranui
around 11pm on the night of the 18th of December 2012.
This male is described as having heavily tattooed hands
and forearms.
Anyone with information on the person
described above is urged to contact Operation Larry staff at
Waitakere Police on (09) 839 0715 or ring the confidential
Crime Stoppers line on 0800 555 111.
Police will not be
making further comment at this time.
