Te Papa Set To Rock This Labour Weekend!
Te Papa will host Earth Rocks 2008!, an action-packed and informative three-day programme of natural disaster-related events, over Labour Weekend (25, 26 and 27 October), proudly presented by EQC, GNS Science and the Ministry of Civil Defence and Emergency Management. A full events schedule follows.
Highlights include appearances by popular TV presenters Suzy Cato with Constable Bryan and his dog Bobby, rescue demonstrations by the NZ Fire Service and Life Flight’s Westpac Rescue Helicopter and performances by comedy group The Improvisors, percussion groups Wellington Batucada and Strike as well as percussion workshops with Andreas Lepper.
Scientists from GNS Science will be on hand to talk about earthquakes and answer your questions and there will be free guided tours of Te Papa exhibitions Awesome Forces, Wellington Faultline and Quake Braker. Kids can grab a free activity booklet and be in to win daily prizes and there will also be a prize draw for a fully equipped survival kit!
