Harcourts opening new office in growing Waikato

 Media Release

Harcourts opening new office in growing Waikato town

25 June 2008: Harcourts Business Owners Stan Hickford and Dallas Hodge are set to open a new office in the increasingly popular North Waikato town of Te Kauwhata.

Harcourts New Zealand CEO Bryan Thomson says the pair, who also co-own a Harcourts office in nearby Huntly, have decided to open an office in the small town, which is about half-way between Auckland and Hamilton, in order to service its growing population.

“They have recognised the need for a dedicated Harcourts office in this progressive rural town in order to better support the existing population and to cater to the increasing number of people who are interested in buying in this affordable, centrally located area,” Mr Thomson says.

“Their initiative is excellent and I have every confidence that the strength of the Harcourts brand, its systems and people will ensure that the team sets a new benchmark for buyers and sellers in Te Kauwhata.”

As Mr Hickford explains Te Kauwhata is becoming increasingly popular with people who are priced out of the rural areas on the outskirts of Auckland and Hamilton but still want to live in a rural environment that is a comfortable commute to work.

“Te Kauwhata is only about 45 minutes from either Auckland or Hamilton, both of which are rapidly expanding outwards, so it offers an attractive and affordable alternative for many people.”

Mr Hickford says staff from the Springhill Corrections Unit and people involved in the construction of the Hampton Downs Motorsport Park, both located North of Te Kauwhata, are also amongst the buyers and sellers in the town that the new Harcourts office has been set up to serve.

The team from the new Harcourts Te Kauwhata office, which is being managed by Mrs Hodge, will be concentrating on residential, rural and lifestyle properties.  Based in an on office at 11 Main Street, Te Kauwhata, the team is putting on a celebratory sausage sizzle in town on Saturday 5 July, with the office officially opening for business on Monday 7 July.
